Andrea Xu

Clinical Research Coordinator


Andrea is a Clinical Research Coordinator in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Zuckerberg San Francsico General Hospital. She graduated from UC San Diego earning a degree in General Biology with a minor in Business. Within the Khalili Research Team, Andrea contributes on the Liver Cirrhosis Network Study looking for ways to improve the predication and identification of risks associated with decompensation in adults with cirrhosis. She conducts patient enrollment, upholds compliance with regulatory procedures, and carries out various study activities to maintain follow-up of longitudinal patients involved in the cohort study. Andrea also has previous clinical experience working on a Phase 3 randomized clinical trial examining the safety and efficacy of obeticholic acid (OCA) on patients with Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH). On her free time, Andrea enjoys restaurant and cafe hopping, creating artwork, and finding new trails to hike.
